Vegan loaded sweet potato fries with spicy tahini dip are great for an easy, quick, healthy and satisfying meal!
If there’s any food I love as much as bananas, it’s sweet potatoes.
I eat them literally every single day, and my air fryer is arguably my most prized kitchen possession. I felt like making some fun fries, so I decided to load them with tons of beans and veg. As if that wasn’t enough, I also figured I’d dip them into a decadent, rich, savory spicy tahini dip. It was life changing, so here we are.
These vegan loaded sweet potato fries with spicy tahini dip are seriously soooo satisfying. And while they seem over the top and a bit decadent, they’re actually legit really healthy and totally oil free. The crisp but gooey fries, all the flavors and textures of the toppings, and the spicy, savory, super rich and creamy tahini dip is OUT of control.
These are fab for a quick but super satisfying and healthy dinner, any night of the week!
Ingredients for vegan loaded sweet potato fries with spicy tahini dip
- Sweet potato: you’ll cut the sweet potato into thick fries and bake until crispy on the outside and gooey in the center.
- Black beans: black beans are a great source of plant-based protein and go so well with sweet potato.
- Corn: corn adds more flavor and texture, and is a great combo with the black beans.
- Red bell pepper: chopped bell pepper gives great crunchy texture.
- Tomato: tomato adds freshness to the fries.
- Green onion: green onion on top adds a bit of bite.
- Tahini: the spicy tahini dip starts with tahini, of course. Make sure to get oil-free tahini – the only ingredients should be sesame seeds and maybe a bit of salt.
- Hot sauce: hot sauce is what gives the dip spice. I love Frank’s Red Hot or Tabasco – use whatever hot sauce you like best.
- Water: a little water thins out the dip to a consistency you like.
Tips for making vegan loaded sweet potato fries with spicy tahini dip
- Feel free to change up the toppings. I absolutely loved the combination of flavors and textures listed in the recipe, but feel free to mix it up depending on your preferences. Swap out chickpeas for black beans, red onion instead of green, etc.
- Add more or less water to get a consistency you like for the tahini dip. I like my dip pretty thick so I use less liquid, but if you want it more runny to pour the sauce right over the fries, add a bit more water.
These vegan loaded sweet potato fries with spicy tahini dip are full of amazing textures from the crisp outside of the fries to the gooey center, crunchy veg, and smooth, rich tahini dip. They’re packed with SO many flavors, and fun to customize with your favorites! A perfect quick dinner to throw together any night of the week.

Vegan Loaded Sweet Potato Fries with Spicy Tahini Dip
Ingredients
Loaded Sweet Potato Fries
- 1 sweet potato, cut into fry shapes – since we're baking the fries, don't cut them too thin or they'll burn
- 1/2 cup black beans
- 1/2 cup corn
- 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 2 green onions, chopped
Spicy Tahini Dip
- 1 tbsp tahini
- 1/2 tbsp hot sauce – I used Frank's red hot
- 1-2 tbsp water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, or if you have an air fryer, preheat it to 380 degrees.
- Bake the fries until crisp on the outside and tender in the center, for about 30 minutes. The time will vary depending on how you cut the potato and your oven/air fryer, so just keep an eye on them and cook them to your liking.
- To make the spicy tahini dip, mix the tahini, hot sauce, and water. Feel free to add more/less water depending on how thick or runny you want the dip to be.
- Add the toppings to the sweet potato fries, then dip in the tahini sauce on the side (or pour it right over the fries!).
