Do you guys like summer? I’m all about it. I wish I lived at the beach, and would love 80+ degree weather year round if I could have it. Someday! I know some people though hate hot weather, which is pretty mind blowing to me.
Whether you like the heat or not, we can all unite over a love for creamy, dreamy frozen desserts, right? I generally prefer more banana/chocolate flavors when I’m going for nice cream, but this vegan cherry chocolate chip nice cream combined the best of both the fruity and chocolate worlds. Plus, it’s perfect for the perfection that is dark cherries in the summer!
Ingredients for vegan cherry chocolate chip nice cream
- Frozen bananas: banana gives the nice cream sweetness and super rich and creamy texture.
- Frozen cherries: frozen cherries add rich and sweet fruity flavor.
- Vegan chocolate chips: I love PASCHA unsweetened chips or Lily’s stevia-sweetened chips, but use any vegan chocolate chips you like.
- Nondairy milk: milk (or water) helps the nice cream blend together.
Tips for making vegan cherry chocolate chip nice cream
- Freeze your bananas when they’re super ripe. Always wait to freeze bananas until they’re super ripe and spotty. This is when they have the most sweetness and banana flavor.
- Add as little liquid as possible. I start with just 1/4 cup of water, then add little by little just to help the blender get things going. The less liquid you add, the thicker and more ice cream-like it will be.
This vegan cherry chocolate chip nice cream is sweet, creamy, and the perfect blend of cherry and chocolate flavor. You’ll get a bit of banana flavor too as that’s the base, which only enhances it in my opinion (shocker, right?!).

Vegan Cherry Chocolate Chip Nice Cream
Ingredients
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup frozen cherries
- 2 tbsp vegan chocolate chips – if you don't want to use chocolate chips, feel free to just add some cocoa to the nice cream itself for some chocolate flavor
- 1/4-1/2 cup water or nondairy milk, depending on how thick you want it to be
Instructions
- Combine the frozen fruit in a high speed blender and blend until totally smooth. You may need slightly more/less liquid depending on your blender, and how thick you want your nice cream to be.
- Mix in the chocolate chips.
- This is best enjoyed immediately after blending.
