So I know it’s still February, but I’m ready for warm weather. Like, yesterday.
Detroit has been so cold lately, that my body is basically rebelling and craving all my favorite summery treats, probably in hopes that it’ll come sooner. Nice cream is my all time favorite summer treat. And we all know that when it comes to flavor choices, chocolate is my go to, forever and always.
But today, we’re taking things to the next level. Remember those raw brownie bars? Let’s toss some of those into the already rich, sweet, creamy dreamy chocolate nice cream, so we end up with vegan chocolate BROWNIE nice cream.
Ingredients for vegan chocolate brownie nice cream
- Frozen banana:Â banana gives the nice cream sweetness and super rich and creamy texture.
- Cacao powder:Â cacao gives lots of rich chocolate flavor.
- Raw brownie bars: you’ll use a raw brownie bar in the actual nice cream as well as broken up over the top for great chewy texture and more chocolate flavor.
Tips for making vegan chocolate brownie nice cream
- Freeze your bananas when they’re super ripe. Always wait to freeze bananas until they’re super ripe and spotty. This is when they have the most sweetness and banana flavor.
- Add as little liquid as possible. I start with just 1/4 cup of water, then add little by little just to help the blender get things going. The less liquid you add, the thicker and more ice cream-like it will be.

Vegan Chocolate Brownie Nice Cream
Ingredients
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 tbsp cacao powder
- 1/4 cup water or unsweetened nondairy milk – you may need slightly more/less liquid, depending on the texture you want
- 1 raw brownie bar
Instructions
- Add the frozen banana, cacao powder, and water to a high speed blender and blend until totally smooth and creamy.
- Break up the brownie bar into small pieces and mix into the nice cream.
- This nice cream is best enjoyed as soon as you make it!
