Vegan Cookie Dough Nice Cream

Vegan cookie dough nice cream is thick, creamy, and full of cookie dough balls! This entire bowl is made with just 4 healthy ingredients, and totally fruit sweetened.

Vegan Cookie Dough Nice Cream

If you aren’t vegan, you might not be familiar with banana nice cream. Freeze bananas, and blend with a little water or plant milk, and you’ll soon understand the hype. It creates the creamiest, dreamiest concoction that’s as good as ice cream when it comes to flavor and texture. Plus, no animal cruelty, which makes it infinitely better, right?! Oh, and no horribly unhealthy crap, either.

So many wins, all while you get to eat gobs of cookie dough in nice cream!!

Vegan Cookie Dough Nice Cream

I have a few different recipes with nice cream bases, all of which I’m equally in love with. Sometimes I want a refreshing smoothie bowl, other times a fun shake, or a protein packed dessert treat.

I had a craving for some nice cream and realized I haven’t made a traditional ice cream-inspired recipe in awhile. After some brainstorming, I couldn’t get cookie dough off my mind. I loooove chunkage (word? It is now) in my nice creams, so I decided some cute lil cookie dough balls were in order. So, this vegan cookie dough nice cream was born. And all in the Grandominico household were very, very happy.

Ingredients for vegan cookie dough nice cream

  • Frozen banana: banana gives the nice cream sweetness and super rich and creamy texture.
  • Nondairy milk: milk (or water) helps blend the nice cream together.
  • Rolled oats: oats are the base of the cookie dough bites and give great chewy texture.
  • Medjool dates: dates give the cookie dough bites natural sweetness.
  • Vegan chocolate chips: I love PASCHA unsweetened chips or Lily’s stevia-sweetened chips, but use whatever vegan chocolate chips you like.

Tips for making vegan cookie dough nice cream

  • Freeze your bananas when they’re super ripe. Always wait to freeze bananas until they’re super ripe and spotty. This is when they have the most sweetness and banana flavor.
  • Add as little liquid as possible. I start with just 1/4 cup of water, then add little by little just to help the blender get things going. The less liquid you add, the thicker and more ice cream-like it will be.
  • Enjoy it right after blending. Nice cream is always best fresh, rather than re-freezing, as that takes away from the rich and creamy texture.
Vegan Cookie Dough Nice Cream

This vegan cookie dough nice cream is SO simple and healthy, but you’ll feel like you’re enjoying a decadent treat. The cookie dough balls are so sweet and rich, and that combined with the ultra creamy banana nice cream is such a perfect combination. I can’t wait to have this regularly when the warm weather is here to stay!

  1. I made this today and oh my goodness IT TASTES LIKE COOKIE DOUGH ICE CREAM, best nice cream I have ever tried, my cookie dough ended up being really wet because I soaked my dates and blended them in water, but it swirled into the nice cream perfectly.

    1. Ah Hannah SO happy you liked it!! And it sounds like what could’ve been a mishap with your cookie dough turned out to be a happy, delicious surprise, a cookie dough swirl sounds pretty freaking good to me 🙂
