In a large bowl, mix the oats, buckwheat groats, and cocoa powder.
Add the date syrup and mix until totally combined.
Pour the granola onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread into an even layer.
Bake the granola for about 20 minutes, then let it cool on the counter for about 2 hour sbefore breaking adding chocolate chips if desired, then breaking into chunks and storing in a loosely covered container at room temperature.
